Colour Orange Show at the Gallery At L. E. Shores Opening January 31st-March 4th in Thornbury

The Gallery’s colour show is back again with a huge splash of ORANGE!

Each year, The Gallery’s Arts & Culture Council hosts a vibrant, color-themed exhibition, with past themes including blue, green, and more! Local artists were invited to submit artwork that aligns with the chosen color, and the exhibit is displayed in a "salon style," with artwork covering the walls from floor to ceiling.

The term “salon style” originates from the French Royal Academy of Painting and Sculpture’s regular exhibitions, which began in Paris in 1667. To showcase the work of so many students, the academy hung paintings as close together as possible, right from the floor to the ceiling! When the exhibition moved to the Salon Carre at the Louvre in 1725, the show became known simply as the “Salon".

“Fall Sunset” 12”x12” $195 in acrylic

“ Wasaga Sunset “ 12 X 12 acrylic - $195

Dramatic Sky Over the Escarpment “ 24”x36” $1050 in acrylic

2026 Benefactor Art Exchange

Enjoy great art and support your community! Take home an original work of art on loan for one year plus a tax receipt for the value of your donation.

The Benefactor Art Exchange is a longstanding MacLaren program aiming to showcase regional artists, foster regional collectors, and increase gallery membership. For over 25 years, artists have been showcasing their work in this annual exhibition while building relationships with the region’s many art collectors and budding art lovers. Featuring over one hundred works, the selection of artwork serves as a preview for the main event – an enthralling art-filled evening where MacLaren Members at the Benefactor and Junior Benefactor levels have the chance to select a work of art to have on loan for the year and display in their home or business. After the year, Benefactors have the option to purchase their loaned work, making it a perfect addition to their personal collection.
