This inspiring evening of art and entertainment will happen on Saturday, September 20, 2024 at 7:30 PM at Side Launch Brewing Company.
The HeART of Red Gala presented by Chapman Private Wealth Group will raise funds to support My Friend's House operations and the essential programming we provide to women and their children who have suffered abuse in South Georgian Bay. Last year, My Friend's House received almost 4500 calls to our 24/7 Crisis Line from women reaching out for support, immediate shelter and emergency preparedness information. 255 women and 83 children were supported through shelter programming and we were at 102% occupancy rate.
The need for our services is great and continues to grow as our communities expand. Support My Friend's House today by attending the HeART of Red Gala presented by Chapman Private Wealth Group.
We are also thrilled to announce the official launch of "Shelter in Place," a powerful poetry collection that gives voice to the lived realities of gender-based violence. It includes work by some of the finest poets in Canada (including Ronna Bloom, Catherine Graham, Elana Wolff, Barry Dempster, Ricardo Sternberg, Steve Noyes, Kim Fahner, Tanis MacDonald, Frances Boyle) who all responded with generosity when asked to contribute. All proceeds from the sale of the book will be donated to My Friend’s House. This important body of work will be available as an optional add-on when purchasing your event ticket and on-site during the event.

Art Show and Sale at Meaford Hall - an exhibit focusing on Tom Thomson’s life and death.
In July & August 2023, Meaford Hall, will be hosting an exhibit focusing on Tom Thomson’s life and death. As part of this important exhibition, Meaford Tree Trust is organizing a sale and auction of work depicting the 117 year old Royal Oak located in the Leith Cemetery beside Tom Thomson’s headstone.
The opening event and artwork unveiling will be held at the Meaford Hall July 8th between 2 and 4pm.
The shows proceeds and silent auction are to support the work the Tree Trust does in the preservation of some of the oldest tress in Ontario
